University of Rochester named “Best Neighbor” college
By: Tony
The University of Rochester was recently named one of the 25 “Best Neighbor” colleges in the nation in a survey conducted by the President of Westfield State College.
The survey was announced during the “Saviors of Our Cities: A Survey of Best College and University Civic Partnerships,” presentation that focused on the positive impact a university can have on the local urban community. The named universities have “demonstrated and documented long-standing cooperative efforts with community leaders to rehabilitate the cities around them, to influence community revitalization and cultural renewal, and to encourage economic expansion of the local economy, urban development and community service.”
We here at the Simon School continue to be part of the University’s efforts to make a positive impact on the Rochester community through our student involvement. Simon students are continually creating opportunities to engage the Rochester community through the V.I.S.I.O.N. program, Simon Volunteers Club, and Simon’s Chapter of Net Impact.
