Application Updates and Changes

By Andrew Brayda

A recent Kaplan Test Prep Survey highlights one of the major changes occurring in many business schools around the globe. The survey found that a majority of top business schools now accept the GRE as an admissions alternative to the GMAT, giving undergrads flexibility to pursue either a master’s degree or an MBA. Kaplan’s survey, which was conducted in July and August of 2011, reported that 52 percent of top business schools have the GRE option.

This summer, the Simon School joined the ranks of business schools allowing students to submit GRE test scores as an entrance exam. Keep in mind that students applying to mid-October deadlines for business schools accepting GRE scores will not be able to access their scores until early November due to the new GRE scoring system.

Here are a few additional Simon application updates or changes to be aware of:

• We continue to accept unofficial copies of GMAT, GRE, and TOEFL score reports, as well as unofficial copies of your transcript – all scanned and uploaded to your application.
• Only one recommendation is required in order to complete your application.

Here is an outline of the items required to complete an application to Simon:
