Simon’s 2016 Application is Live – Start Yours Today!

The Admissions Office is excited to announce that the 2016 application for Simon’s full-time MBA and MS programs is available. The application process may seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be! Here are a few helpful resources and tips to support you along the way.

Application Deadlines & Timing

Please refer to the below grid, which outlines application deadlines and notification dates for the 2015-16 admissions cycle.

Deadlines

From an admissions perspective, we encourage you to apply early to maximize your potential for admission and scholarship consideration. Of note, applicants who apply in one of our first three rounds will be considered for participation in Scholarship Weekend.

However, it’s important to apply when you are ready! You want to submit the strongest application possible – it’s OK to submit a stronger application at the right time, rather than rush the process and compromise the overall strength of your candidacy just to meet a deadline.

Application Requirements & Essay Topics

You can refer to our Application Checklist and Application FAQ for this information. I would like to take this opportunity to unveil one of my favorite parts of the application – the essays. It’s an important part since it’s a chance for the Simon Admissions Team to get to know you. Below are the essay topics so you can begin gathering your thoughts and ideas of how to answer them.

  • Essay 1: Describe your short-term and long-term goals for post-MBA or post-MS. Given the fluctuation of economic and industry hiring trends, identify a back-up plan should your short-term goal not be immediately attainable. How does your past education and experience support your career objectives? Lastly, what aspects of your intended Simon Business School program make it a good choice for your graduate study? (250-500 word limit)
  • Essay 2: In 25 words or less, provide us with an interesting fact about yourself not expressed elsewhere in your application. (25 word limit)
  • Essay 3 (Optional): Share additional information you think is important in the evaluation of your application, including any concerns you think the Admissions Committee may have regarding your candidacy. (500 word limit)

Please note that these are the essay topics for the full-time MBA and MS programs only.

Next Steps
I hope you find this information helpful as you start or complete your application, but please feel free to contact our office if you have further questions or prefer support from the Simon Admissions Team. I also recommend that you participate in one of our many interactive webinars to help you navigate the admissions process.

We look forward to receiving your application!
