Reflections from 2nd year MBA student: Lilyana Valcheva

Blog by Lilyana Valcheva, M.B.A. 2008:

What I liked the most about my Simon experience, was that it enhanced my international exposure.  At Simon, I was able to interact in an extremely friendly and team-oriented environment with students from all over the world, share their experiences, learn about their cultures, and tell them more about my country, Bulgaria.

Simon guided me through a very flexible M.B.A. learning experience in which I was able to navigate along the sphere of my interests in finance and accounting.  The various social and student life opportunities complemented my studies.  I particularly enjoyed being part of the student-managed Coach program the School has and working as VP of Finance of the Women MBA Association.

Last but not least, Simon gave me the confidence to transition successfully to my new career in the United States, by giving me the tools to add value to the organization where I will work upon my graduation.  I plan to continue my career in banking in New York City, where I will work for one of the largest and most successful Canadian banks, the Bank of Nova Scotia.  I look forward to taking this exciting step in my life and to becoming one of the many extremely successful young professionals proud to call themselves Simon alums.
