Reflections from 2nd year MBA student: Jeff Joss

About my Simon Experience:

The tight knit community that is immediately apparent at Simon is also found when speaking with Simon alumni.  During my first year at Simon while I was searching for an internship, I contacted several alumni to gain knowledge on specific industries and companies.  Each alumnus was more than happy to speak with me about their professional background and experiences as well as my career interests.  Many of the alums were also interested to hear about a specific professor they had grown to love while attending the Simon School. They each also offered a different perspective on life after Simon which was crucial in helping me narrow down the focus of my internship search.

Upon graduation I will be moving to Atlanta, GA to work in a financial development program at AT&T.  The program is called the Financial Leadership Program and consists of three 1-year rotations; each in a different area of corporate finance.  I interned with the company in their Bedminster, NJ location following my first year at Simon.  As an intern, I was able to gain a good understanding of the work environment as well as the internal operations at AT&T.   Another great aspect of working at AT&T is their focus on continued learning.  During my three year program I will be expected to complete on line course work relating to new financial initiatives and trends in the telecom industry.
