Kalmbach Executive Lecture with Dean Mark Zupan, Jeffrey Hayzlett and Ron Karr

By: Tony

Dean Mark Zupan moderated a conversation with Kodak CMO Jeffrey Hayzlett and author Ron Karr at this week's Kalmbach Executive Lecture.  The discussion covered topics from Kodak's early beginnings in Rochester, NY to the firm's recent product innovations, particularly the success of the Inkjet Printer product line.

Hayzlett shared a behind the scenes look at the marketing strategy used by Kodak to enter the Inkjet Printer market and position Kodak against the "Big Ink" companies.  The result was the award winning "Print & Propser" campaign launched earlier in 2009.

The discussion continued into an in-depth look at Kodak's ability to deliver a new value proposition to the print-at-home consumers who were dissatisfied with the high price of ink.  The case study of Kodak's plan to offer low price ink is highlighted by Karr in his newly released book, Lead, Sell, or Get out of the way.
