Get Ready! Simon’s Application Opens September 5

Our application for 2020 entry will open on September 5—roughly three weeks away! Our first deadline is October 15, and we encourage applicants to apply early for maximum scholarship consideration. You can start prepping your materials now so you’re ready to apply as soon as the application opens—we hope the resources and tips below help you prepare for the application process.

Application Timing
We accept and review applications on a rolling basis. Application rounds for 2020 entry are as follows:

Round 1  |  September 5–October 15
Round 2  |  October 16–January 5
Round 3  |  January 6–February 15
Round 4  |  February 16–March 31
Round 5  |  April 1–May 1

Applicants who apply by January 5 will be considered for participation in Scholarship Weekend—an invitation-only event where our largest merit awards, including full-tuition fellowships and named scholarships, are awarded.

Essay Prompts
Get a head start on completing your application by beginning to work on your essays now! Keep in mind that fully answering each question, staying within the word limit, and using correct grammar and spelling are all important elements of writing a successful essay.

Essay 1: Describe your short-term and long-term goals for post-MBA or post-MS. Given the fluctuation of economic and industry hiring trends, identify a back-up plan should your short-term goal not be immediately attainable. How does your past education and experience support your career objectives? Lastly, what aspects of your intended Simon Business School program make it a good choice for your graduate study? (250–500 word limit)

Essay 2: In 25 words or less, provide us with an interesting fact about yourself not expressed elsewhere in your application. (25 word limit)

Next Step: Check Your Eligibility
Get ready to submit your best application! A member of the Admissions Committee will review your candidacy even before the application goes live. You’ll receive personalized feedback regarding your fit with Simon Business School as well as suggestions on how to present your strongest candidacy by highlighting your strengths and discussing any weaknesses in the best way. To check your eligibility, simply send a copy of your résumé (and test scores, if you have them) to, and we’ll respond within 3–5 business days with our experienced feedback on your qualifications.
