Experience Simon Weekend Recap

By: Rebekah

Simon hosted admitted students and their guests the first Saturday and Sunday in April for "Experience Simon Weekend".  The event provided an opportunity to meet current students, alumni, staff and faculty and learn more about the M.B.A. and M.S. programs.  Specifically, students participated in a case discussion that was similar to what students can expect during their Simon School classes.  Additionally, we offered a tour of campus, and sessions on careers, housing and financial aid.  Saturday’s activities culminated with an onsite cocktail reception and dinner at PAETEC Corporate Headquarters – a telecommunications company that was started by Arunas Chesonis, class of 1991.

The keynote speaker at dinner was Michael Behrman, (Class of 1992) Executive VP of Finance and CFO of the NBA Charlotte Bobcats.  Michael discussed his decision to pursue his MBA studies at Simon, his post-MBA career first working on Wall Street and then at Disney World Wide Sports.   He also discussed a "day in the life" at the Bobcats, especially his interactions with senior staff and the ownership group, which includes Michael Jordan, formerly with the Chicago Bulls NBA team.  The weekend concluded with a breakfast where students asked questions of Simon School Dean Mark Zupan and Michael Behrman.

We look forward to officially welcoming the incoming class of 2008 to campus in a few short months!
