Career Days in Finance, Marketing, Consulting and Other Areas for New MBA Students

Many MBA students come to Simon with a desire to make a career transition – sometimes a small shift and in other cases a significant career change.  One of the important ways that the School supports students in their career planning is through Career Days.  These events are based around a particular industry or functional path and allow students to meet alumni and learn about typical career opportunities during the first few weeks of their MBA journey.  The half-day sessions include a combination of panel discussions and informal networking opportunities.  It provides students with exposure to a typical “day in the life” as well as what it will take to be successful to break into that job as a student who is changing careers.  Examples of events focused in the Finance field include:

Career Day Flyer

Banking Day – alumni from FBR Capital, Oppenheimer, Deutsche Bank and Storm Harbour

Corporate Finance Day – alumni from Verizon, Citigroup, and DirectTV

Research and Valuation Day – alumni from Empire Valuations, Deloitte, and SunTrust

We have Career Day events in Brand Management, Pricing, Operations, Consulting, Analytics, Market Research and Entrepreneurship that include a combination of early career alumni (2-8 years out) and more senior alums (15+ years of work experience in the field) that can give a variety of perspectives on their career journey.
