Alumni Spotlight: Jai Ramachandran, MBA ‘08

I decided to attend the Simon School for a variety of reasons including the Schools’ highly rigorous and engaging academic curriculum, small and intimate classroom settings, and the career placement opportunities.

My degree from the Simon School has enabled me to switch careers from an operations/technical career in IT administration, to my current career as an Investment Banker focused on the Communications and Cloud Services sector.  On a daily basis I use the valuation skills I learned within my finance coursework as well as the strategic planning skills learned in my economics coursework.

My words of advice for prospective students considering Simon Business School:
I think incoming MBA students tend to focus too intensely on either their job search or academics.  Your MBA is really worth only what you put into it, and BOTH your job search and academic studies need to be focused on from Day 1 until you find a job/graduate.
