Alumni Spotlight: Ashutosh Shroff, MS ’07, MBA ‘08

I help Dropbox, Inc. make good financial decisions in the largest area of capital and operational expenditures, i.e. technology infrastructure (storage, compute and network capacity). My responsibilities include decision support as well as P&L management to ensure the company can scale from being a startup to a major corporation leading the cloud storage industry.

Simon is the destination of choice for anyone seeking a career in finance. Its stellar faculty and alumni as well as the rigor of the program were the key attributes that attracted me to Simon. I knew getting a Simon degree would give me a great foundation on which I could build my career and achieve personal and professional success.

More than anything else, Simon taught me to think analytically and dissect seemingly complicated problems to get to their core. It has shaped the way I think about business and the role finance plays in it. In addition, I have the opportunity to be a part of a tight-knit and elite pool of alumni whose success I am in awe of.

My words of advice for prospective students considering Simon Business School:
Simon is one of the top business schools in the world when it comes to quality of education and a distinguished pool of alumni. The skills, thought processes, and personal connections that a degree from Simon opens will continue to help you personally and professionally for the rest of your life. I wouldn’t trade my time at Simon for anything.
